Every Monday we give some marketing tips for personal trainers. How to market yourself, where to market yourself, who to market to, what to say. Today, I want to give you a special piece of advice that I think will go a long way. Marketing to your most important audience is that piece of advice. We seem to always be marketing to people whose attention we do not currently have. Why would we not spend more time marketing to those whose attention we already have? Those people are your current clients.
This may seem to be a redundant thing to do. Why would we market to those who are in front of us when we’ve already marketed to them to get them in front of us? The answer to that is simple. People want to be cared about. It is a part of our human nature. Something that sets us apart from the rest of the animal kingdom. We desire to be cared about by others.
Think about yourself. Would you like to give your time and money to the insurance agent who is always too busy to give you sufficient advice or help? No, you would much prefer to work with the one who is personable, willing to help you and cares about you. We are all usually drawn to those people and businesses who will focus on us.
Remember this while setting up a marketing plan. Do not forget about the people who are already invested in you. These people want your services. Show them that you want them as well. Treat your current clients like gold! They are the ones who are paying your bills and hopefully giving you future clients through referrals. If they like you and know you care about them, you just need to maintain that and these people will do your marketing to others for you!
